Staying Cool: Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes & Verbena Refreshing Towelettes

I have a love-hate relationship with the summer. I love my new straw hat, I love the late sunset, I love riding my bike to the beach, and I love the electricity in the night air. I hate the heat, Grinch style. Absolutely hate it. I hate getting smacked in the face with heat from the Earth’s core every time I enter a subway station. But the thing I hate, most of all, the thing that drives me up the wall, is sweating.

Sweating, glistening, whatever you may call it, is the pits, but there’s really no way to avoid it, unless you’re one of those people on the subway platform, decked out in all black and wearing pants with nary a bead of sweat on your brow (clearly, your ancestors had your back). While you can’t will yourself to stop glistening, you can ensure that the momentary discomfort you feel while melting really stays in the moment by carrying these wipes:

The only thing worse than a sweaty forehead, is a cooled down, yet-to-be washed, previously sweaty forehead. Thankfully, The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes simultaneously removes impurities while toning the skin, so you can kiss the sweat and clogged pores goodbye. The wipes are made with Kenyan Lemon tea tree and Community Trade tea tree oil which can help minimize breakouts. A pack retails for $12.5o and contains 25 wipes.

At $10 with only 15 sheets in a pack, L’Occitane Verbena Refreshing Towelettes are on the pricier side, but these lightly scented  hand and body towelettes (do not use them on your face!) are excellent for freshening up and a better option than carting around your deoderant. The wipes are 100% biodegradable, which means you can throw them on the ground and a tree will sprout up within a week. Just kidding about the tree part, it will be a shrub. Also, if you have an interview and it’s a hot and humid day, these towelettes are a must have.

  1. I feel like I’d totally love these. Sweating simply because I’m walking to the train does not sit well with yours truly.
