R.W. Knudsen Just Cranberry
Despite having lots of sugar, juice tends to be perceived as a healthy drink. Did you know that in addition to having 100% of the daily recommended amount of vitamin C, one serving (8 ounces) of Ocean Spray’s Cranberry Juice Cocktail contains 120 calories and 30 grams of sugar? The same serving of Sprite, which is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, has 100 calories and 26 grams of sugar.
One of the easiest ways to lose weight is to eliminate excess sugar from your diet, and cutting out sugary drinks is one of the easiest ways to do this. If you love cranberry juice or like to use it in smoothies, I recommend replacing your regular high-sugar juice with R.W. Knudsen Just Cranberry.
R.W. Knudsen Just Cranberry is a thick cranberry juice made from cranberry juice concentrate mixed with just enough water to turn the concentrate back into juice. There’s no added sugar so the juice is tart, just like real cranberries, and each serving only has 9 grams of sugar. I was initially taken aback by the tartness because I was accustomed to cranberry juice being sweet but adding water (seltzer is great if you want something different), helps dilute the drink without adding anything in terms of calories or sugar. It’s great to use in smoothies because it adds flavor (the tartness actually disappears in the smoothie) without adding excessive sugar.
The only downside of Just Cranberry is that with each serving only contains 2% of the daily recommended amount of Vitamin C versus the high amounts of Vitamin C in other cranberry juices. Each serving also has 4% of the daily recommended amount of calcium and 6% of the daily recommended amount of iron.
